The Hawks are back in the Regional Finals after a 50-44 win over Fairland and now have a chance to head to their 6th State Tournament this decade. Trailing 8-0 early to a team who hadn’t lost an in-state game yet this season, the Hawks showed their resiliency. Hiland had countless playmakers step up: Morgan McMillen with 23 points, Zoe Miller’s 6-point stretch in the 3rd quarter, Kennedy Schlabach’s buzzer-beater at the end of the 3rd, and Morgan Yoder’s relentless defense throughout and primarily late to seal the game. The Hawks now battle Africentric, one of the top-ranked teams in the state, for a spot at The Schott.
