Philo, Maysville, Heath Shine in 7-on-7 Passing Tourneys August 6, 2014 In the final days before Two-A-Days kicked off, Philo and Maysville hosted their 7-on-7 tournaments for a final tuning against opponents. Philo showed off the new-look field, hosting their first 7-on-7 at the brand new Sam Hatfield Stadium (first played in last season). The Electrics graduated a bevy of talented Seniors and used the tourney to give their new starters chances to build chemistry and hone their craft. Area challenger Heath looked crisp, displaying a great aerial assault and plenty of attention-grabbing passes and TD catches. Maysville looks to continue their trend of recent playoff success and hosted their own successful 7-on-7. Senior QB Jacob Miller, starting for his 3rd straight season, looked beyond comfortable with his talented receiving core while the defense had an impressive showing of their own.
Coffman 7-on-7 Passing Tournament Highlight August 5, 2014 Dublin Coffman hosted 15 teams on Friday, July 25th in a 7 on 7 passing scrimmage. Many teams from Central Ohio and beyond displayed their aerial talents in Dublin, but it was the host Rocks that came out on top. Coffman, coming off a trip to the National Select 7on7 Championship in Hoover, AL, impressed many with their proficient passing and impressive end zone grabs. While Coffman took the title, this video highlights 6 teams that Storied Rivals is very excited to be working with this 2014 season: Gahanna Lincoln, Pickerington North, Westerville South, Westerville Central, Zanesville, and champion Coffman.
Philo Basketball 2014: DVD Trailer August 4, 2014 The Philo Electrics Basketball program was building up to this season. Expectations were understandably high in Duncan Falls for the most Senior-laden squad of any in the area. With 8 of 11 roster spots being occupied by the Class of 2014, leadership and poise under pressure was not hard to come by. While an MVL Championship was ultimately not in the cards for this group, exciting moments were in spades. Highlighting the 2013-14 Philo Electrics season included moments such as: an early season defeat of rival and Elite 8 team John Glenn, Senior Chase Hambel notching 1,000 career points, the team's first tournament win since 2011, and perhaps the team's most intense and exciting tournament game since the 1999 State Championship Game; a 2-OT thriller against Steubenville. The brotherhood was clear with this group and it's safe to say that the Class of 2014 Philo Basketball will be dearly missed and have set the bar high for this new generation of Electrics. This DVD trailer previews the team's full length feature film produced, filmed, and edited by Storied Rivals Sports Media, LLC. Song used in the trailer is "Can You Feel It" by Family Force 5. Zanesville Football: 30 Hills - The Tradition July 18, 2014 For decades, Zanesville Football has trekked up and down the big hill behind Zanesville Middle and High School. While the task is daunting, the players fight through in order to build team unity, strengthen their conditioning, and experience victory through adversity. Coming off a memorable 13-1 season with an appearance in the State Semifinals, this batch of Blue Devils has started off the football season right in hopes of repeating last year's glory.
Tri-Valley Boys Basketball 2014: DVD Trailer July 16, 2014 The Scotties ultimately didn't find a way to repeat their MVL Championship glory of 2013, but this year's squad certainly had a bounty of great moments. The crew from Dresden hosted and won their 2nd straight home tournament game in the tough D-1 Central District. They asserted dominance over rising MVL powers in Sheridan and Philo. And they finished the season with an impressive 8-game winning streak (with an average 15-point margin of victory) before falling at rival Zanesville in the Division 1 Central District tournament. Highlighting the Dawgs' season was a familiar big man, breakout future stars, and clutch role players. Senior Avery Williams frequently controlled his post, often scoring and rebounding at will. Juniors Matt Gray and Camden Craig found their rhythm as the season progressed, becoming a defensive stalwart and 3-point slinger, respectively. And the Scotties' saw clutch performances from every other starter and bench player at key moments in the season. Tri-Valley may not have repeated as MVL Champs in 2014, but they've set themselves up nicely for a run in the coming years. They finished the season with a 16-8 overall record, 12-4 in the MVL. This DVD trailer previews the team's full length feature film produced, filmed, and edited by Storied Rivals Sports Media, LLC. Song used in the trailer is "Jungle" by Jamie N Commons & X Ambassadors. Buy it on iTunes!
