Both teams were knotted at 26 going into halftime, and after a hard fought third quarter the Warriors outscored the Mustangs 20-10 in the 4th to pull away. Dylan Beaver led Trail with 21 pts while Branden Barnett added 16 of his own.
Hiland Hangs Tough with Colorado's Finest, Regis Jesuit, in 46-40 Loss January 16, 2018 Two reigning state champs duked it out as Hiland fell in their first game of the Classic in the Country weekend to Colorado's finest, Regis Jesuit, 46-40. Sara Keim was key in keeping the Hawks competitive early on with 9 points off 3s in the first half. Hiland was a bucket away from tying or taking the lead in the final minute but couldn't capitalize on opportunities as they drop to 9-3.
Morgan Celebrates at Home, 75-62 January 15, 2018 Morgan prevailed on its home floor, taking down Crooksville, 75-62. The Raiders executed their half-court offense to near-perfection, finding bucket after bucket. Despite a solid halftime advantage, the Cermaics bounced back with a third quarter run behind some hot three point shooting. Still, Morgan's party continued in the locker room after the final buzzer.
Tri-Valley Takes Down John Glenn, 64-52 January 11, 2018 Tri-Valley secured their 6th league win and sole possession of first place in the MVL after taking down John Glenn, 64-52. The Muskies rattled off 11 straight points to even the score at 25 to end the second quarter, but the Dawgs stole the momentum in the 3rd and never looked back. Matt King led Tri-Valley with 16 points, while Justin Heacock notched 20 for John Glenn.
Generals Inch Past Panthers, 51-45 January 11, 2018 Winners of four straight, the Generals pulled away late from visiting Maysville for a 51-45 win. With each team needing the win to stay in an MVL title hunt, it was Sheridan’s Ethan Heller who stepped up late in scoring the go-ahead bucket and then finding an open Dylan Emmert for an easy bucket to seal the win. Heller tallied 15 points on the night while Connor Sidwell had 15 for the Panthers. Sheridan out rebounded Maysville 35-23.
