Newark Edges Westerville South, 6-5, In Extras April 30, 2015 In a 6-5 extra innings win over Westerville South, 3 of Newark's 6 runs were off past balls. None were more important than Tyler Osborne scoring off a walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the 9th that gave the host 'Cats the victory over the visiting 'Cats. Newark pitcher Darius Shackleford went the distance to earn the win after surviving a 4-run blitz in the 1st inning. The win puts Newark at 8-9 overall.
Dawgs Break Ceramics, 15-2 April 28, 2015 Riley Paxson Grand Slam in the eight inning helped lead Tri-Valley to a 15-2 blowout of Crooksville. The Scotties took an early 2-0 lead after the first, and opened up a 10 run lead with an eight run third inning. Lexi Adams did her part from the mound allowing only six hits with no walks and nine strikeouts to keep the Ceramics from getting back into the game. Tri-Valley moves to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the MVL.
Newark Dominates Groveport in 16-6 Rout April 24, 2015 Behind a 9-run explosion in the 3rd inning, Newark (8-7) trounced visiting Groveport-Madison 16-6 in 5 innings to extend their winning streak to 3. The 'Cats had no problems finding the gaps in the outfield as they tallied up 8 doubles off 13 hits. Julian Williams earned the win for Newark as they now sit 1 game over .500.
Scotties Use Strong 2nd Inning to Push Past Maysville, 7-4 April 23, 2015 Tri-Valley (4-4) knocked in 6 runs with 2 outs in the 2nd to give them the edge over host Maysville in a 7-4 win. Sophomore pitcher Ryan Rider struggled in the first, giving up 3 runs, but the Dawgs responded emphatically the next inning. Rider picked up steam as the game went on as he ended with 9 strikeouts. Junior Tyler McGee and Sophomore Bryce Farmer both drove in 2 runs to help the cause.
Grove City tops Newark, 4-2 April 21, 2015 Late errors plagued the 'Cats (5-7) as they dropped a 4-2 home contest vs Grove City (7-5). Trailing 2-0 in the 4th, Newark broke their 23-inning scoreless streak thanks to a Doren Barrett RBI-double. Tied at 2 heading into the 6th, Newark's errors would lead to Grove City's final 2 runs, which was enough for the Greyhounds to head home with the win. The Wildcats outhit their opponent 7-6.
